Night Times is the sixth volume of largely obscured solo material from Fred Thomas (of Saturday Looks Good To Me, City Center, and countless other projects). Drawing on the insular spirit of Arthur Russell’s bedroom productions and the haunted folk poetry of acts like Will Oldham and Mount Eerie, Thomas melds subtle acoustic structures with waves of buzzing guitar tones and ghostly vocals to create a unique, uneasy atmosphere which fills Night Times. The album collects 17 astral pop gems that rival the greatest of Thomas' previous offerings and we’re left with a work that truly sets him apart from the pack.
